Psychotherapy
“1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England.”
“1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England.”
– Statistics from Mind (2024)
Who
I offer therapy to adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties. You can read more about my specialisms below.
I believe that everyone should have access to support when they need it. I therefore particularly welcome clients from marginalised groups and have some availability for clients who need to pay a reduced fee due to low income.
What
My approach is psychodynamic. This means that I work with clients to reveal and understand unconscious thoughts and beliefs which shape our everyday experiences.
With additional training and experience working as a Yoga Teacher and Personal Trainer, I am also interested in the mind body connection and use of psychotherapy to explore this.
When
I offer sessions on weekdays, during both daytime and evening hours.
I see clients between one and three times per week. I do not offer fortnightly sessions.
Where
I am based at Phoenix Therapy Practice, with clinics in both Brighton and Hove.
I also have some availability for online sessions for clients who are unable to attend in person due to accessibility or locality reasons.
Why
At various stages of life, anyone might need or want psychotherapy. Alongside its lifesaving potential – which I don’t say lightly – therapy can transform one’s relationship with self and others.
If you are unsure about whether therapy is for you, feel free to contact me to discuss your individual situation.
How (much)
I charge £60 per 50 minute session.
I am able to offer a reduced rate in some circumstances.

Trauma
“I identify myself in language, but only by losing myself in it like an object. What is realised in my history is not the past definite of what was, since it is no more, or even the present perfect of what has been in what I am, but the future anterior of what I shall have been for what I am in the process of becoming.”
– Jacques Lacan
