Services
I offer therapy to adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties.
I provide a supportive space from central locations in Brighton and Hove and online.
I particularly welcome clients from marginalised groups and have some availability for clients who need to pay a reduced fee due to low income.
I provide yoga tuition as an addition or alternative to talking therapy.
Research increasingly indicates that life experiences, and particularly trauma, are stored in the body.
I work with clients of all ages, genders and physical abilities, tailoring my approach to the individualโs needs.
79% of people frequently experience work place stress.
Poor mental health costs UK employers up to ยฃ45 billion per year.
Using a combination of mind and body approaches, I help employers improve staff wellbeing, boost morale, and increase productivity.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is informed by several factors, including:
Postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which seeks to understand how present day events are informed by past experiences and unconscious processes.
An avid interest in Lacanian psychoanalysis, which explores how the mind is structured by language.
Undergraduate studies in Sociology, with an emphasis on gender, sexuality and criminology.
Extensive work in the police service and in rape crisis, giving me a deep understanding of the impacts of trauma on individuals and society.
In depth studies in yoga asana, philosophy, Sanskrit and Ayerveda.
โDuring a transitional period in my life, as the world was coming out of the pandemic, I found myself leaving a relationship and changing jobs. Therapy sessions with Kate were key in getting me back into a more positive mindset, which allowed me to become a better version of myself.โ
